Life is an Adventure!

Alicia maneuvers through real estate with unwavering integrity, skillfully navigating the highs and lows for her clients as effortlessly as her Wrangler glides over the sand.

Rule #1: When you live at the beach, you must have toys!

I see life as an ongoing adventure. Every new person we meet, every new place we travel to, every day that we live, is a part of our story, our own individual adventure. It’s always fun to see the delight on my clients’ faces as I tour them around town and share all of my favorite places with them (like Fort Fisher State Park). As a real estate agent, I believe a part of my job is being an ambassador for our area. And I love to do it!

My motto is “Personal Attention, Professional Service” for a reason: I want my clients to feel comfortable and enjoy the process from start to finish, while at the same time providing them with exceptional service and handling the entire transaction thoroughly and professionally.

One of the greatest things about being a real estate agent is becoming a part of my clients’ lives (hopefully, for many years) and assisting them in their own new adventures.

When we first moved to Pleasure Island, I would go for a run every day: on the beach one way, and then wandering back through all the Carolina and Kure Beach neighborhoods on the way home. My husband said he always knew the route I took by the For Sale brochures that I laid out on the kitchen counter when I returned. I couldn’t help myself—I was fascinated by the local real estate market. Finally, he told me that it was time I became a real estate agent.

In my previous “career lives,” I have worked in the field of clinical psychology helping children with special needs, been an editor of both fiction and scholarly books and journals, and was also a wedding photographer for 13 years. I became a licensed Real Estate Broker in 2004, and never looked back! It allows me to combine two of my favorite things: my passion for real estate and the sheer enjoyment I get from working with others to achieve their goals and dreams. I love helping people and realize that communication and really listening to their needs is the best way to do that.

As a hobby, my dad made Native American jewelry. When we lived in California, we would go to the different turquoise mines, pick out the stones, and he would do the lapidary as well as the silver work. I have some beautiful and very special pieces (several of which were my mom’s). Any time I have a special event, a big appointment, or go out for a night on the town, I wear my dad and mom’s jewelry. It is how I carry them with me.

I have always had a fascination with trees. Being among them fills me with a sense of wonder and peace. Their majesty, their beauty, their strength, their shadows and secrets—oh the stories they can tell. Trees have always spoken to me. I hope they always will.
